Who is Monte Griffin, and why are they raiding him?
Do you mean Maadi-Griffin, the maker of .50 cal rifles?

Sorry about the spelling error it's Maadi-Griffin, the 50 cal rifle maker in Mesa Arizona. The information was called into The Intelligence Report on Genesis Communications Network this afternoon and has been confirmed. I expect more information will be broadcast though out the day. You can hear Genesis live at http://www.gcnlive.com/ . Please note that I do not endorse all of the hype on Genesis but there is some good programming there.

My personal thoughts on why relate to the Maadi-Griffin’s recent guest appearances and advertising on Patriot oriented shortwave radio. Along with information on his rifles the no serial number, no registration point was hammered home. While the rifles are legal, this advertising tactic is begs the Feds to tamper with him. I also believe there are some folks in power that don’t want such an efficient weapon in the hands of the public. It seems that in this country, the ability to reach out and touch someone long distance is reserved for people like Ron Horiuchi.

It was Bob Stewart’s home that was raided. He is the owner of Maadi-Griffin rifles. Bob is in jail. All of the computers and records were seized. Also seized were the rifles there for repair. The BATF stated that even the rifle kits are illegal. The BATF is wrong again. If you have purchased one of these kits, you are on their list. YECCH!

This is sad but true! I have talked to a family member this morning and have confirmation that Bob Stewart has been arrested by the BATF and is in jail. Specifics are not being disclosed by the family yet, and they were reluctant to discuss on the phone and I believe the phone lines are being tapped and conversations being recorded. Any public-knowledge information relevant I will pass on both here and at Assaultnet.com. I guess I'll have to contact the BATF on Monday morning to see if I can get the .50BMG barrel back that I had there for modification to my specifications. God Bless and Good Luck to Bob and his Family!!!

Also, please post any relevant data at http://www.thefiringline.com/NonCGI/Forum13/HTML/006078.html

There is a thread on their General Forum that I started to handle this.
The information will reach many more people this way.
Thanks,
Mad Dog

While I hesitate to recommend this, Alex Jones will probably have updates on his show Monday from 9 AM to 12 PM PDT. You can listen in at 12172 kHz USB or at http://www.gcnlive.com/ . I believe he may also post information at is Web Site by Monday http://www.infowars.com . Please note that this post is not an endorsement of Alex Jones! The Intelligence Report is on after Alex’s show. This is where I first heard of the raid.

Howdy, All! Just an update, there is a better than even chance I should be getting my barrel back from ATF. It isn't a "firearm", and I had no involvement with whatever Bob Stewart has been arrested for. For now, there is still no information being circulated about the arrest or charges, but if I hear of something, I'll be sure to pass it on. Best Regards.

I'm glad to hear that you may be getting your barrel back. Did ATF contact you or were you able to get through to them?

Howdy, Mrs. Mad Dog!
I waited for a couple of hours after I called and left my number, but eventually called back and spoke to the Agent that apparently is in charge of the investigation. In a nut shell what he said was my barrel is evidence but there should be no problem in getting it back as long as I show I actually owned it (no problem). Also, he said, no one else is in trouble over this situation and the "kits" and/or components are not the issue. It is with Bob himself. I won't give out details as nothing has been put out in public yet, but for those that have dealt with Bob, there are no plans to round up any guns/kits/parts because of this incident. Any more information I get that is public knowledge, I'll be sure and pass along. Best Regards to All.

Follow this link to the actual charges against Bob Stewart:
http://www.biggerhammer.net/barrett/wwwboard/index.cgi?read=7018

If this is the same Bob Stewart that owns Maadi-Griffin, one has to ask the question: if he was conviced of this *felony* in 1994, how could ATF then proceed to later issue him a valid firearms manufacturer's license?

Another question here:
If the "kits" are not the problem, why did BATF confiscate Bob's customer list, hmn?

Howdy, Corvus! Regarding your questions in your two posts, on researching the case law with regard to Bob, yes, it would appear on reading the text that Bob is indeed a convicted felon. I don't know that HE owns his business, nor do I suspect HE has an ATF license to build guns. The business may be in his wife's name, I don't know, and for anyone to say otherwise at this point is pure speculation. However, if the business is not "his" as long as he doesn't have any "guns" he is not technically in violation. What he was building were "kits", none of which were completed, so therefore not "guns" as covered by NFA rules or law. How the ATF will interpret this only time will tell. It is not unusual for any governmental agency to read the law then say it means something else. Hell, just witness the way the 2nd ammendment is getting a thrashing these days!! What we have here is a government that breaks the laws with impunity whenever it wants. There is no accountability by these federal employees, as they have any number of umbrella's to shield them without recourse to the public. The courts aren't about to rule against an individual federal employee when they violate the law, for to do so would invite untold legal assaults against the government for the resultant action. I'm sure everyone out there knows that you can't sue any governmental agency unless they permit it, regardless of the evil done. This is but a protective shield that gives carte blanche for a government out of control. Ever hear the saying "Power Corrupts, and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely"? Does anyone out there think there is but one path we as a nation are taking at the present time? I am not paranoid, nor am I a conspiracy theorist, but I have eyes, ears, and a brain and make my own decisions based on what I see and hear! Those that feel Bob Stewart is in need of assistance and are willing to lend support, please feel free to e-mail me. There is an effort afoot to try and help him in several different ways, so if you want to help out, please let me know and I'll try to help get this off the ground and keep you posted. Those that think Bob is a bad guy before the facts are out, I'd ask that you please not try to hamper efforts to assist him. Eventually the facts will come out and maybe we will all learn that while he may have made some mistakes in the past, he should not be eaten alive for some technical infraction. If that were the case, how many of our elected official would still be in office? Surround yourself with power, and you can lie to an entire Nation and lose nothing more than a couple nights sleep, but certainly not your freedom. Best Regards to All.

Bob Stewart released from jail!
http://www.SierraTimes.com
SierraTimes.com Update

FLASH: Robert Stewart Release from Jail
A Sierra Times Special Report

PHOENIX- In a move that has set the government's case back into next month,
Robert Stewart has been released on his own recognizance from federal
custody.

Judge Lawrence Anderson granted the release when the government failed to
prove that Stewart was a danger and a flight risk.

Stewart will be allowed to continue his enterprise within limits "so long as
he doesn't break the law.

There was also an amended complaint that was filed by the government at the
last minute but was denied by the court.

The government's attorney said that Stewart was a danger due to his
strong "second amendment views."

But the Judge wasn't buying it.

Stewart stated that it would be hard to continue his business since the ATF
has taken many of his records and paperwork.

Robert Stewart, husband and father of three, is a Free Man again - for now.

"Robert Stewart, husband and father of three, is a Free Man again - for now."

May I also quote the Miltia of Montana in a recent email?

"Mom says:
If they can do it to them,........?

All this, incidentally, only because two or three of the Branch Davidians were "suspected" of not purchasing a $200
tax stamp for a couple rifles. Anything the government said
after that was part of the cover-up, not the original excuse
for the siege."
