Sierra Bullets announces a .22 caliber bullet designed specifically for varmints and game up to deer. This new bullet is best suited for 1x10" or faster twists. The new Sierra 65 grain GameKing bullet is a superb bullet for deer-sized game in the .224" bore diameter. The classic aerodynamic Sierra Boattail shape is crafted from carefully selected and alloyed components to yield dependable bullet performance for all game up to deer.

Just curious, and I realize this is a new bullet, could this heavier, expanding (vs. fragmenting) bullet be an effective fight stopper at longer ranges than an equivalent weight cannelured bullet?

What I am thinking is similar to what DocGKR has said the Remington JHP has done for the .30 M1 carbine? I do realize the .30 Carbine round is 110 grains vs. this bullet's 65, but there is a whole lot more velocity available to the .223.

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

Thanks in advance.

Although we have not yet shot this load, I suspect it will offer performance in the same range as other similar loads, such as the BH 60 gr JSP, Fed 64 gr TRU, and Win 64 gr JSP; the 68 gr Hornady OTM loaded by BH and the 69 gr SMK OTM also offer comparable terminal effects.
